Bored in Ohio

We are near Dayton, Ohio. We've been driving since 5:45 a.m. and have several hours to go. My best guess for our ETA is 7:00 tonight. Yikes.

Did anything happen while we were gone? Cubs win the World Series? Obama win the election?

Feel free to respond with total giberish. I'm just killing time here and trying to take my mind off the hours of travel still ahead of us.

1) YIKES! Well, you could sing campfire songs..."She'll be comin' 'round the mountain when she comes, WOOT! WOOT!!" Or play 20 questions with Courtney--unless she's snoozin'...I would be; not much to see in Ohio. How about the license plate game?? Better not. You're driving, right? Umm...Car Talk? Might be too late for that show or it's only on NPR on the weekends - not sure. Hey, you have an iPhone...get online and try to locate the nearest skate park for a little once over, unless you forgot to pitch a board in the back of the van, but if I know you, it's there. If not, you could always shoot some pics! Be safe!!

2) Hey - I used to live in Fairborn, Ohio - right outside of Dayton - or at least 25 years ago - it was outside of Dayton - who knows - it may be part of Dayton by now.

6) You should stop by and see Todd's folks...they're in Bellbrook, the burbs of Dayton. Or you could go see the Wright Brothers museum...exciting stuff!

7) Thanks for the replies guys. Sorry, but Dayton was SO fifteen minutes ago. Almost to Indiana now. We're staying busy looking for a white vehicle with Ohio plates that we heard about in an Amber Alert. Good times.

10) OH has to be one of the most boring drives I've ever had. No offense to the state but driving across it is dull--at least on the freeways. Of course I guess that is the point of a freeway, fast and devoid of interest to keep you moving. Else you'd be on something more interesting like Rt. 66 but then again you might not see the kids doing that drive until they graduate HS. Glad you are in IN. At least it starts with an I so that seems better.

11) Dave, while you were gone I sold your Humzoo shares to a man who goes by the name Warren Buffett. I think he is related to Jimmy but not positive. He did say he would throw in several bottles of Coconut Rum and that pretty much sealed the deal. The shares went for a bunch, I can't exactly disclose how much but let's just say I am on the Humzoo Yacht right now. It's been a fun ride, too bad you had to get off. Save travels home.

30) Obama did win the election already! According to an Irish bookmaker anyway: They decided to pay out already on bets made on him before a certain date.

31) Well, maybe it takes a cancer diagnosis to make you appreciate every minute and every situation or maybe it's just old age, but Dad and I thought that Ohio was absolutely beautiful and we enjoyed every mile of it! The fall colors were fabulous. We loved the rolling hills and the serene countryside and the peaceful pastures. One man's junk is another man's treasure!

So glad you guys are back home safely. I know the kids were beyond happy to see you, and I hope Bobbie survived! Hope all the other wedding guests got home safely also.

Randy called last night. They're having a fabulous time in Aruba!
