Film Club Movies
I was planning on exporting all of the Film Club movies at resolutions that were good for Humzoo, but unfortunately Humzoo has a limit of 150MB per movie, and that limit is causing many of our movies to look horrible. Until we fix that issue (which I might be able to work on soon), I am just going to link to them from this blog. They are actually hosted on the school district's site, so if you want to see them there, click here.

I tried to embed them into my blog here, but that didn't work. Sorry Humzoo, this is a bummer indeed. Maybe one day we will get this thing working properly.

If you enjoyed the films, you can purchase a DVD containing all of them from the Film Club's web site by clicking here.

The winning videos of the 2009 Student Video Contest are online and can be viewed here.

There is a Behind the Scenes video from Partly Cloudy available here.

I was able to get a video to embed. I'm too lazy to do them all though, so follow the link above to see the rest. Here's one of the more popular videos.

Thinking Through Peer Situations

One day at Film Club, Allison and Dave were exploring the district archives and came across some material from the year 1984. It was only fitting that we created a video to pay homage to such a glorious year. Watch along as Jeff Buhrman from TV helps kids think through some difficult situations in their lives. He deals with peer pressure, bullying and more. Next time you find yourself in a difficult situation, Think it Through! Thanks for watching.

3) Looking forward to seeing them! I'm at the airport on a broadband card which probably won't stream your big filez well, so I will wait until I get home.

I'm interested in what you tried to embed in the blog (email me the object tag stuff). It should accept a good number of object and embed tag attributes. Did you use double quotes or single? I do recall an issue with one or the other at one point but using one or the other resolved it.

4) Yep, it ended up being the quotes. I'm not about to copy/paste all those embed tags again, so I'll just embed one for now. It has been added above. Denny, when you get a connection slightly faster than a 14.4 baud modem, check it out!

6) Dave, after getting home after the wrap-up party I turned on the TV and started watching a movie already in progress. It was Parenthood with Steve Martin. At this point in the movie Rick Moranis came into a classroom full of students and began singing, "Why do birds suddenly appear, every time you are near?"
So much for getting that song out of my head.

7) Ha, that's rad Joe. I bet they had to shell out at least $50k for the rights to do that. Good thing we didn't use that song. Cough cough.

8) I watched all the videos from the Film Club in the last hour or so, schew that's a lot of movies... but those were totally awesome! Each very unique and captivating. Everyone involved should be very proud, the hard work that went into them is very evident. It made me want to go back to high school too.

My favorites were Partly Cloudy, Action Sequences, and of course Thinking Through Peer Situations. That one was super funny! I also loved all the Humzoo cameos, very cool stuff!

Also, we have a lot of those Menard Canard things in NC. They were born and raised here.

Keep up the great work Film Club (and Dave)! It's definitely paying off.

9) Dave, I fixed the single quote issue. You should now be able to embed videos with both single quotes and double quotes. Embed it up!
