Tuesday, April 8th, 2008   Larger Image Available

At the Aperture workshop, they gave everyone a free copy of Aperture 2. I installed it on my computer a little while ago and processed this whole album using it. I must say that it's superior to my previous method, which was using Adobe's Bridge. Aperture has some adjustments that are just awesome. This image had a ton of contrast, with the brightness of outside mixed with the darkness of the interior of the car. I tweaked this quite a bit to bring the two areas closer in exposure, and it looks neat.

1) Would you recommend Aperture 2 to a novice photographer like me?

2) No, I'd recommend iPhoto. It really does a lot more than many people know about, in terms of adjustments, cropping, export options, etc. But if you find yourself feeling frustrated that iPhoto just doesn't have the tools you need, then it might be good to step up.
