There were several ways I could have connected this thing, but these flexible metal brackets seemed to be one of the best. I cut holes in the existing drywall to let these stick through, and then the idea was to connect the part that sticks through to the frame that holds the ceiling box thing together. Piece of cake, if you have two people. But I didn't, so it was interesting to say the least.
