Long story short, I won. There were 20 movies shown at the event tonight, and mine was last (they showed them alphabetically). A couple things I remember: during the part of the movie where you see the auto dealership and rows of cars, a lot of people kind of went "aww." Like they GOT it. That really meant a lot to me, as did the amount of applause when it was done. I've never had a movie shown in that kind of environment (heck, I've never even made a movie like this!), but it was wonderful.And yes, they did give me an ice scraper.
For all you poured into it--it's nice you got to be there for the accolades and appreciation and understanding with an audience. Move over, Spielberg!
Oh, and you could use some of that dough to build a decent dolly.
