A crane like this depends on very good balance. Having a heavy camera at the very end of the longest arm means quite a bit of counterweight on the short arm. I have about 24 pounds of weights connected in odd configurations, but the balance works. The camera can be high, low, in the middle -- and it will stay put without moving a bit. It takes very little effort to move the crane around, but moving the whole tripod is extremely cumbersome.
