New Video Camera Test
I just acquired a new video camera for work, so I can shift from web stuff to video stuff (although I'll still do web and graphics like I do now to some extent). I brought the camera home to experiment with the settings and what not, and here's some of that footage.

2) Yep, I think it works. It must have a quality boost feature because that's a great little movie.

6) Nice work Dave! The depth of field on the footy really makes it look like Hollywood. You have arrived dude. I think you should reshoot The Yellow Car in its entirety.

Um, can Humzoo haz a camera like that someday? Tanks.

8) Thanks guys. It's a great camera for sure. It has several frame rate modes that let you simulate over/under cranking like film cameras are capable of, which is one of the things I really wanted to test out.

Will, the song is by Nick Drake (stolen shamelessly from my iTunes library, and the lyrics are here:

I edited the song in places to make it fit, and I cut out some of the lyrics I believe. But it's mostly there.

12) Great googily mooglily....that bad boy is almost 13 dollars over my budget for a new camcorder. What....could you not talk Dr. Milton into The Red One?
Well, you have no excuse now not to become the next Fellini. No pressure.

15) How are the P2 cards working for you Dave? What system are you using to edit on (Mac Pro?)

16) P2 cards are the best thing ever. I use a G5 (not Intel) to edit using Final Cut Pro. I connect the camera to the computer via FireWire, and download footage directly into Final Cut. The transfer takes awhile, but it is quicker than real-time (maybe up to twice as fast as real-time, but not much faster). I can drop clips on the timeline from there and edit/preview in real-time. It's basically the best workflow I can imagine.

17) The best workflow would be for the camera to know what scenes you wanted, edit it, add/adjust audio, master it, export it and upload it to Humzoo. A man can dream.

18) The best would be if we could all be plugged in like in the Matrix. Then we wouldn't actually have to do anything, we'd just lay in a nice warm bath and everything could be a dream.
