Thanksgiving Weekend 2008
It has been awhile since I posted a normal "kids" video, so here are Ethan and Mia in all their Thanksgiving glory.

This video started out as a short project and ended up taking about an entire day to edit. I created a neat hand-drawn intro that was a stop-motion illustration pattern thingie, but all the photos got corrupt somehow and could not be retrieved. I wasn't about to do it all over again, so I made a new intro which I think is better anyway. I put some brown paper up on the wall (just so it wouldn't be boring white), set up some lights and let the kids go to town.

I tried some new editing techniques, but I think they are subtle. I have a small comfort zone when it comes to editing, and when I try new things, they're usually not very different from my normal style. I'm making a conscious effort to shoot and edit better, so hopefully some of that comes across.

2) I am going to assume the 'jello beans' were an incentive? Funny what kids and dogs will do for food.

Ohh, who's the music?

3) That was great. Love the slapping shoes when Ethan was running and Mia trying to get leaves out of her mouth with mittens on. Looks like a fun day for everyone!

Taco Bell might be willing to pay for that for their holiday ad! :)

4) Great video. I didn't know "jello beans" and "Taco Bell" could be so entertaining. Ditto Denny on the into.

5) This is just wonderful! Your kiddos are way too cute and talented. I'm not sure if its them or the editing but there is good comedic timing.

I agree with Linda; I think TB would pay dang good money at least for the marketing idea...and more for this particular clip!!

7) Next time you are in NC I would love for you to do one of my grands-would be a good business. I bet your Mom is just crazy abou this minifilm. I love how your kids have such different personalities and you always manage to capture their essence. I agree Taco Bell and Jello beans would love to use this film in their marketing for the holidays.

13) If a raven is like a writing desk, then i guess a rake really is like a skyscraper?!

Did you tell Ethan not to step on the cracks when he was running on the path?

and was there something squishy in the leaf-pile at the beginning?? it looked really soft.

15) Did I see Courtney and Mia on NewsChannel 20 this morning? Sledding?

16) :) Perfect way to start the day. My brother said his son played jingle bells on his arm pit the other day. I guess that is kind of like singing Taco Bell to the tune of Jingle Bells?

17) K8Day - we did not go sledding. Was there enough snow to sled? I checked it Sunday morning, and it was pretty sparse and wet. I hate to think I missed out on a sledding opportunity though. As soon as we get a good amount of snow, we're going to get a Humzoo Sledding Team together and destroy the hill at Passfield.

18) Apparently there was enough snow yesterday morning to sled on. I could not see the faces but there was a gal with blonde hair in a black and white winter coat, and a little one falling up a hill in a light colored winter coat.

20) Soundchick, I wondered that too. Must be our neighbor...married to Taco Marni.

K8...I guess some chick broke into our house and stole our coats to go sledding.
