Dave Meets Me in One Month

Dave, I saw your blog about meeting me and I am totally looking forward to the moment we finally meet. For you I am sure the world will stand still for a few minutes after you meet me. It does for most. Nothing else will matter to you anymore. Not even Courtney and the kids. At that very moment you may question the meaning of our individual existences in life but our friendship and partnership will finally emerge as a completed circle.

I know the moment will be a hallmark in your life. I am trying to prepare you for it. Most people don't know how to control themselves when it happens. It does help that we were indeed at the same wedding together several years back and breathing the same salty, coastal air for an entire evening. I knew someone smelled like PHP and I am pretty sure I saw some KAP equipment in someone's car on the way to the wedding. Must have been you.

The photos that you linked were most certainly of Niki and I, you stalker you! It appears that you were at the next table over. Yes, I remember you, the loud and obnoxious table that was throwing food into the water. The nerve! How rude, at a wedding? Dang. So you were merely feet away from me. That had to feel really good huh?

All kidding aside, yours and Courtney's visit to NC next month is going to be an awesome weekend! We have a ton of yard work to get accomplished that weekend and the extra help is going to be huge! The mulch will be here bright and early on Saturday. When you get here on Friday night you will probably want to hit the sack early because we (you) are getting up around 5am on Saturday to start working. We're also going to reseed the yard and plant a new garden (remember the garden?).

If you aren't too sore from all the work we will get done on Saturday I need some help painting the garage and the attic on Sunday afternoon. The attic really needs two coats too so be prepared. Did I mention that you'll also need to get up with Dylan each morning so Niki and I can catch up on some rest? It's been way too long since we really got to sleep in. And don't wake me up when you are making us French Toast with Eggs Benedict and homemade hollandaise sauce. I like cream and sugar in my coffee too, thanks. God I love breakfast in bed!

Ok, really not kidding this time. I have been looking forward to this totally-blown-out-of-proportion meet up for a long time. We have a really fun weekend planned and it will be nice to actually have a conversation in the same room without any sort of technology. I'll have a huge white board ready to go so we can start mapping out Humzoo 2.0 as soon as you get out of the Heinzel Rad Van. Around that we are planning the first ever Humzoo Rad Party at our house. It's gonna be totally rad!

So when are you coming again? Can't wait!

Oh, I almost forgot... this also doubles as the official announcement that Denny Deaton is now on Humzoo.

1) Welcome to Humzoo, Dennis! You will find this site to be of great use to you as an amateur photographer and obviously first-time blogger. Here are some ProTips to get you started:

ProTip #1: You might want to consult an English grammar and/or spelling dictionary. Most of your words are not actually words - I had to run this blog though a Google English translator to even make it through the first paragraph.

ProTip #2: When shooting photos, it's best to take off the lens cap BEFORE pressing the shutter button. I know you're new at this, but with time and my guidance, you can be shooting like a Pro in no time.

ProTip #3: I think you might have me confused for someone else. When I mentioned "Denny" in my blog, I was referring to the chain of restaurant establishments known as "Denny's." Courtney and I will be going to Denny's next month, that's all I was saying.

ProTip #4: You're fired. Thanks.

2) David,
Your words and "tips" are forever inspiring. You are a legend to us all and obviously have a wonderful soul within. With your expertise and experience the rest of Humzoo has nothing to fear. Your guidance will light the way for us.

Enjoy your Moons Over My Hammy at Denny's kind sir!

3) I'm still impressed that Dave knows a word like fruition. I'm always impressed with vocabulary--especially when it is spelled right. No wonder I like your new website, Humzoo, Dave. It's nice a first time blogger like Denny has someone like you to learn from. He's gotten nothing but abuse about his grammar and spelling since babydeaton.com. I can't imagine why a new father waiting for his first child to be born can't remember grammar and spelling. I'm also thinking my nephew gave me grief about my first blog testing the limits of blog length for your site. Seems his first one isn't brief either. But, then I'd be complaining about the amount of words instead of the grammar and spelling if I mentioned it and I hate changing my tune this late in life.

Thanks to you both for my new obsession. I didn't have a reason to stay on the computer more than 12 hours a day before. Now I have one to stay on 23 1/2 (I do need some sleep). Have I tested the length of a comment yet?

I can't imagine you both in the same state and room. NC may never be the same. Welcome to Humzoo, Nephew (hey, that rhymes!)

4) Should I notify the local Wal-Mart that you two will be signing autographs there over the weekend?

5) Also, this whole partnership you guys speak of in NC I thought was only legal in MA, HI, and CA?

8) You two have never met? And you run a business that you plan to change/take over the world with? Can you guys do me a favor and film your meeting in April?...cut it into a 1:15 piece....no longer....tag out with "Ben Handelman...ABC Newschannel 20" and send it to our station on Cook Street.....

If you need help with the tag out part just try and sound like a 1980's game show host or someone who is selling a used car.

I'll be sure to thank you in my speech at the AP award dinner.

9) Ha! I love your description - game show host or used car salesman. Totally awesome. I don't think most people realize how "abnormal" news reporters have to talk to get that "tv reporter" sound. But I tried to do that once for one of my videos (that I don't think ever made the cut thankfully), and man, that is not easy. I was paying more attention to how I was talking than to what I was saying. Also I totally suck at speaking on camera anyway.

Denny and I will both have cameras rolling pretty much throughout the weekend we get together. And we both have the same HD camera, so the footy will totally mix well. Too bad Denny white-balances on yellow paper and always has clipping audio. You can fix that in post, right? Hmmm...

10) Okay, so I didn't know where to put this, but I settled on the blog just because.

I read perezhilton.com because my life is sad, and he totally featured The Avett Brothers in a recent post. I wouldn't mention it, but so many people (losers like me) read his blog that he's known for introducing musicians to the under 30 crowd. It could be a good or a bad thing, but here it is: http://perezhilton.com/2008-03-18-listen-to-this-we-go-...
