Live Blog from the Apple Store
Call me crazy but I am in line of idiots outside the Charlotte Apple Store waiting on an iPhone. I got here around 9:05am, the mall opens at 9am. The Apple Store opens at 10am. The line already about 75 morons deep when I got here. So who knows if I'll even get one. I am meeting some old colleagues for lunch so I'll hang out here for the morning to see how far I can get.
I saw a guy I used to work with towards the front of the line. I so totally wanted to say "Hey, mind of I slide in with you, it would be so great to catch up!" but I doubt the people behind him would like that too much.
I'll provide updates throughout the morning (interesting events and battery life permitting).
Right now there is a girl sitting next to me eaves dropping as a write this blog. She just dropped her phone, her old one. And I wanted to say "Is that how you are going to treat your iPhone?" but I didn't.

Well the line just got a whole lot shorter. What to do... I still want the 16GB?
Dave swears his 8GB is all he needs. Then again he only listens to Amy Grant albums.
Also, a HUGE cart of boxes from UPS just rolled by us heading towards the back of the Apple store. Everyone just went crazy, one guy had a heartattack but he's ok. We stuffed a Cinnabon in his mouth and he's back to normal now.
LindaG....he could have probably gotten to the front and gotten a 16G with a couple dozen DBCC cookies--we will have to remind him to take those next trip unless he breaks down and gets an 8G.
Just thinking out loud here. But I did an analysis once of my iPod songs and found out that I hadn't listened to half the songs in over a year. So I could be a lot smarter about what lives on my iPhone. I am seriously leaning towards the 8GB now. Plus, it will be that much easier to upgrade to the 20GB when the release it before Xmas (total speculation).
SA Tenor, I just closed your account. How dare you tease me. Totally kidding, stay as long as you like.
PS- Can you swing by PB and see if they still have those outdoor tablecloths on sale?
PPS- Let me know what you think about for dinner, I could pick up a few things at the store on my way home and we could all stay there and eat with Annie, Beck & Em.
Maybe Denny has had time to think moving in line. 8GB will keep him organizing and managing his songs better. :) Besides, by the time the 16GB are more readily available, this 8GB can pass down to Niki and there can be two in the family. :) Or maybe Dylan will want one by 2.
What is PB? Peanut Butter? I can stop by Peanut Butter for you and get some Jelly if you need.
They are about to pre-approve me. They are pulling people out of line to do it for security reasons. Thank you Apple for caring about my social security number and privacy!
I have faith in you as parents to manage cell phones better than some I see. Seeing a 10-year-old with his own cell phone seems a little crazy to me. As you have stated in the past--parents survived without knowing where their children were every minute of every day and being unable to call them that often for years and should be able to manage at least until 16 before the need becomes obvious with the drivers license. :)
oh and can we not have this whole kids with cell phones debate again - I think it was already beaten into the ground, k thnx
Swat at the bugs and start grabbing peoples pants legs. Oh yeah.... get someone to video it and then upload it to humzoo.
This should shorten the line.
I'm waiting....
What time are you meeting the guys for lunch downtown? I could walk that way and meet you when I go grab something.
I think I could fit in with a banker, maybe???
I see you in 45!!!!
Anything but catastrophe
But suddenly I begin to see
A bit of good luck for me
'Cause I've got a [blue] ticket
I've got a [blue] twinkle in my eye
I never had a chance to shine
Never a happy song to sing
But suddenly half the world is mine
What an amazing thing
'Cause I've got a [blue] ticket

I agree the phone does take a little getting used to. Its just not like my old bag phone. No seriously, there was another guy in line next to me that was replacing a military-grade phone from the mid-90's. That thing was massive. I saw him leave the store just before me and I think I heard an explosion not long after. I am sure he couldn't handle the shock.
