Niki Got Old

Today Niki is another year older and it's really starting to show. She goes to bed much earlier than she used to. I also hear a good number of complaints about back pain, aching arches and overall fatigue.

What gives? She used to be cool and relaxed. She used to hang out and kick back with the cool kids. These days its all go-go-go. Stress about this, stress about that. It's not like she has a kid or a job or anything to take care of. At thirty she should be footloose and fancy-free like Kevin Bacon.

Niki, I hope you have an energetic day filled with unicorns, unlimited Geritol and warm breezes! May your chips forever be dipped in hot salsa and your chewing gum always taste like a Piņa Colada. Happy Birthday, and may all your dreams about Brad Pitt come true!

1) Niki, may I be the first to say "Happy Birthday" to you. 30, hmmmm words of wisdom from a wise old lady of almost 58. Do what you are doing now, take care of your body, exercise for your mind, love your family, count your blessings! God Bless You, Love, Gigi

15) Happy b-day Niki. And by the way I had a double whammy dream about George Clooney and Brad Pitt. But it was a platonic dream.

19) Good thing Bek mentioned who wrote that. I was having images of Will with a double whammy dream about George Clooney and Brad Pitt.

Niki, strangely your husband didn't mention the age in his blog--what's up with that? 30 is a great number--just getting your second wind and feeling the rhythm, feeling the rhyme. :)

Hope you have a wonderful 30th birthday. 30 is the new 20--so you have at least 10 more years before you have to FEEL 30. May it be a day full of surprises and fun and a walker (do you call it a walker if you use it when running or a runner?)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, NIECE!!

23) I hear you loud and clear George, thanks. Angi, my birthday is today (the 4th). I was actually born on Labor Day in 1978. It was my favorite holiday, the older I get though I am not so sure. :)

Labor Day. HaHa. That's funny -- is it ironic or fitting?

27) Happy Birthday a day late!! Didn't Humzoo last night because I was too tired from being on a ladder all day long, so I missed everyone wishing you a happy birthday. Wow 30; I think I had a 30th birthday once but it was so long ago I don't remember it!!

28) You are on time, Steve. Her b-day is today. It just feels longer to her because she feels older at 30. That used to be the "age" when growing up. We'd always say, to indicate old, that the person "must be at least 30" or "has to be in her 30s". How funny we thought that was some demarcation line for adulthood. :)

33) 1978...oh geez, let's see...in 1978 I 'became a woman', started my last year of junior high and watched John Travolta become Olive Newton-John's stud in Grease THREE TIMES on the big screen! See, not old!!

34) I never saw Grease until a revival years ago while I was in MN. Three of my friends and I went. Talk about devotees! Some of the people in that theater knew every word of dialog as well as all the words to all the songs. Crazy but fun!
