Over the weekend the Charlotte Observer ran an article about the launch of Humzoo. They interviewed me last week and apparently I forgot all about Dave being part of the project. They barely even mentioned the dude, dang! I guess that makes sense, considering he owns 2% of the company and I own the rest.

The full article can be found at this link, scroll to the bottom you'll see it is part of a set of articles for some weird reason:

7) Courtney, I sometimes wonder that myself, but then I realize I am no spring chicken anymore. I think Dylan has aged me by another few years. Congrats to Humzoo making the paper; I hear Perez Hilton is going to interview you guys next.

8) I just got word, we are also in the Mooresville Tribune today. That is probably where the Race City Spammer came from. I will pick up a few copies after work. Hopefully they included the stuff I told them about Dave (drinks a lot, smokes 2 packs a day, beats his wife and kids, etc).

9) I'm interested in the article next to the Humzoo article - it appears to cover a myriad of important things, like shoes, Carhartt, and Cleveland. That's pretty impressive.

15) Making the cut in the Charlotte Observer. That's like the NC equivalent of the NY Times! How come Niki and Dylan didn't get their names in there? Weren't they contributors and "the women behind the man"?

Congrats, Nephew, like we all don't know it is a hit and beloved but it's nice to see someone puts it in print in THE CHARLOTTE OBSERVER!

23) 1. Why on earth do you keep digging up ancient stuff to comment on?
2. Why on earth are you obessesed with classifying everyone as some kind of sports fan just so that you can announce again that you are a wolfpacker.

39) In this day and age, it is time for the sexual equality pendulum to swing back to being balanced rather than so over extended to the female and minority side. When women were in the home most of the time, the families were better disciplined and more closely knit than they are now. Look at the present day statistics where there are a lot of dysfunctional families with no role models and the grand parents are left to take care of somebodyelses child. DestrDestruction of the family unit are the reason that we have so much criminal behavior now days. By the way most of us on this board were raised in families where mothers were in the families and home especially the early years.
BeanCounter37   Tuesday, August 26, 2008
sandy
40) I'll bet if we took a poll, you would find that many of the members here were raised in families that had both parents working outside the home. Most of us can even write in complete sentences.
sandy   Tuesday, August 26, 2008
justmeg
41) Ya know - I was raised in the same type of family - but guess what - I was as wild as the next one and caused my parents tons of grief. I work outside the home in a professional capacity - and my girls are turningout a helluva lot better then I did. because they are being raised tobelieve that they can do anything in the world that they want to do and are not being relegated to the home to raise the kids and keep the house clean for their man.
Further - in this day and age - it is an economic necessity for the woman to work outside of the home in order to make ends meet, keep a roof over our heads and put food on the table.
Also - my husband works in a service job - he is a cop - guess what - he works two jobs and that still would not be enough money for me to stay home with the kids in the South.
AND if you thing that the sexual equality pendulum is over balance - try being a woman for a week and you will find that it is nowhere near being over balanced - if anything females are still treated like crap in professions that are male dominated.
justmeg   Tuesday, August 26, 2008

42) Oh hell fucking no. You really think that women and minorities are getting more than their fair share? Well that just proves you're stupid.

Let's take a poll about mom's, though.

Mine worked outside of the home and she did a fantastic job in both places. She still does. There is no one answer that would apply to every family.
Courtney Heinzel   Tuesday, August 26, 2008

43) As far as my poll answer: my mom and dad ran their own house painting business until they retired a few years ago. No, my mom wasn't the bookkeeper; she got up on ladders and did the "man's job" along side my dad for over 25 years. Would you ever hire a woman to paint your house, Bean/Wolf? Luckily the population where we were wasn't as ignorant as you seem to be. In my younger years, I stayed late after school so they could work a full day. At about age 10, I started coming home by myself. I have a 4-year degree and no criminal record, by the way.

47) Ahh, the good ole days. Back when a man could slap a waitress on the ass and she'd just giggle, or you could have clan meetings in the town hall and when the sheriff showed up, you'd just give him a hard time about being tardy. The only kind of stoned anyone got was with the good shit... real stones. North Carolina back in 1998 was a grand time indeed.
mattpike   Tuesday, August 26, 2008

48) Yeah, my parents were divorced (oh no!) and I was raised by a single mother who worked 3 jobs most days. Holy shit, I'm not only a woman, I'm a major sports fan (NC State? pick a real team - Go Marquette!) and I can spell. What are the odds?

"Look at the present day statistics where there are a lot of dysfunctional families with no role models and the grand parents are left to take care of somebodyelses child."

53) In summary:

Old, white, conservative dudes are better than women, young people, minorities and liberals. Also, North Carolina and everything about/from it is the best place/thing on earth.

Did I miss anything? Okay, I think we're all done with HawkfingerBranwolf29834793827. Every post he makes is either irrelevant or unintelligible or follows the above pattern. I hope he enjoyed his stay on the internetzzzzz.

54) Um, I was a fetus in my mother's womb, but, but, but, I'm one of those young liberals that doesn't look at my paycheck so what do I know anyway?

When does it get old to always bring up *the* games even 30 some years later. That's like beating the Packers in the best SuperBowl game ever played but a Cheesehead brings up the first two championships the Pack won in the 60's? Dumb.

Oh, but what do I know about sports?

BeanerCount, I know you will read this and read every damn thing on HumzOo. Every question I have posed to you that takes at least half a brain cell to answer, you have ignored. Please don't tell me you didn't see it b/c you're still commenting on blogs from March.

So, to ask again, you DON'T take care of the g'kids, do ya?

55) Yes I went to UNC Wilmington which happens to be an awesome school. Unless you have great SAT scores and are in the top of your high school class its almost impossible to get in these days. A few other perks are that it has a beach about 3 miles away, a beautiful campus and lots of hot chicks.

A lot better than farms, rednecks, FFA and a degree in 2x4 repair.
