For my 32nd birthday Niki planned a day trip to the Asheboro Zoo. Far from the relaxing, comatose-esque day-on-the-couch birthday I had in mind. But I wouldn't have had it any other way. It was a really fun day! Here are some photos from our trip. As soon as we got there Dylan wanted out of her stroller and insisted on riding on Niki's back. It really was my birthday!

1) I hope that Dylan went in the stroller eventually. That is a HUGE zoo to carry a child around on your back! Looks like a fun trip.
2) She walked and went in the stroller too. It is just hard because every stop you have to get her out of the stroller so she can see the animals. More of a pain to put her in there. She is only 23 lbs, at 19 months, so luckily she is on the little side and not too heavy. We were definitely tired after the trip!
3) Maybe she needs a scooter for the next trip. Just wheel her around to see things but not have to lug her or get her out of the stroller. :) Great photo!
4) I need a scooter for the next trip. Kids are fine.
5) The zoo covers an entire small mountain. Before it became the zoo, it was known as Purgatory Mountain. It is a part of the Ewharrie State Park System. Because it is so roughed, the final week of Green Beret "Q" School is spent in this area by the troops with survival gear only.
