Ah yes, the never-ending concrete fireplace project. Where were we?
Over the weekend I sealed and waxed the hearth piece. I used two coats of a standard concrete sealer and two coats of paste wax to give it a nice layer of protection from dogs, kids and big people too.

6) Prior to working four summers with cement finishers on curb and gutter projects throughout the town I grew up in I spent two summers tending grouchy-assed brick layers!! Is grouchiness really a prerequisite to becoming a unionized bricklayer??
