Saturday, November 22nd, 2008early Saturday afternoon update We are continuing to hold steady here, with blood pressure and temperature the same. (pretty much normal) They will continue to monitor her blood pressure and may have to use a low dose of norepinephrine The pericardial drain output has been 120 mL; I'm really glad it's in place. They are giving Mom a diuretic to help remove some of the fluid from her body. There was some question yesterday about her stomach function, but an abdominal X-ray revealed no major problems and she is still getting nutrition. Mom was given one unit of blood during the night due to low hemoglobin levels; that should help her out.
We are hopeful that she will remain about the same throughout today, as she is looking better today than yesterday.
To all of you who are driving: safe travels and we look forward to seeing you!
