Vitamix This past Christmas, my mom-in-law, Marni, bought my dad-in-law, Bill, a Vitamix. Basically, it's a blender on steroids. It takes whole fruits and vegetables and reduces them to a liquid. When Erica and I went to visit them over spring break a couple of weeks ago, I used it everyday and was amazed at the possibilities. I loved that machine.

This past Friday when I got home from school, there was a box on the deck behind our house. I thought, "what did Erica order?" Turns out, the box was addressed to me and the words "Vitamix" were all over the box. Erica said that she would get me one with the money she was going to make this summer, so I was wondering why she decided to get it now.

So I called Erica and told her what I had received. She said that she didn't buy it, but her mom did. Why? For graduating with my Masters degree this spring. Unbelievable. Maybe I'll go back to school and get my doctorate. Yeah, right! Anyway, thanks Marni/mom for getting that for me. I have used it everyday and will continue to do so!
