busy summer
just an update about our summer. The boys started part time preschool last Friday. They go MWF 9-1. Gareth is only going to help Jonas with the transition. Jonas is only going to help mommy with her sanity. Gareth also has swim lessons Tu/Th mornings (only for 2 more weeks). Monday after school Jonas crashed. Gareth spent those 2.5 hours while Jonas napped ironing. It was quite fun. First we ironed all the placemats and napkins. Then he helped me iron some fabric fat quarters that I had washed (in hopes of finally starting my quilting). Tuesday after school we just hung at home. Today Gareth had a friend over, and we all went to the park for a little while. Jonas didn't nap yesterday or today. Yesterday was a hard but short meltdown at bedtime. I suspect today could be worse. Tomorrow after swim lessons, I am taking the boys to the park to meet a friend. She has three kids, the youngest was born across the hall from Jonas about an hour and a half later. We didn't know each other at the time. We met about 3 months after the babes were born but pieced things together (we also have the same OBGYN). Anyway, in addition to my kids, I am also watching two friends of Gareth. Then I think (hope) the boys will both nap after lunch. And after that we (whole family, dad included) are going to the boardwalk. My head is spinning just thinking of all the activity. Next week (or the week after) we are going to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. And sometime we have to get to the Exploratorium in SF (it is amazing). I guess it's good we cancelled our trip to San Diego... we're busy enough.

1) The Aquarium in Monterey is amazing and I know you will have a great time. Breathe, mommy!
2) Fun fun fun! :) :) :)
3) Well, we had to skip the boardwalk yesterday. At the park in the morning Gareth jumped off one of the play structures and hurt his foot. As of this morning, it seems like it was just a really pull of a muscle on the outside of his foot (like whatever connects his pinky and ring toes to the back of his foot). At least today he can walk on it. Boardwalk set for make up next week (never Fri, Sat, or Sun!).
