the dentist

Both boys had dentist appointments today. Gareth I was not worried about. He's had good teeth every time he's been. He was nervous the first couple of times, but managed to get through it. And he's okay with it all right now. They took xrays and we could see his adult teeth hanging out beneath his baby teeth. It was very cool to look at. He has a couple of six-year molars coming in. He claims one baby tooth is a little bit loose, but I think it's just his own anticipation.

Jonas, on the other hand, I was really worried about. We went to a different dentist about six months ago and it was just about the worst experience ever. Thankfully he has grown a lot in the past six months. Also, I feel like the office we went to today was more mellow than the other, which is better for my guys. Jonas let them floss and clean. They didn't do xrays or flouride. He does have a few cavities that should be filled. So, we have to figure out the money for that (no insurance).

But overall, it was a great visit.

1) Glad to hear your visit was a success - Galvin bonked his upper teeth on the monkey bars last Thursday, and the right front tooth (upper) is still loose today; he's been complaining of it hurting every so often when he eats certain things or flicks it with his tongue. Therefore, we're heading off to Dr. Sara tomorrow morning for xrays because she wants to check his roots and such. I'm not looking forward to this appointment with a three year old. *sigh*

2) Angi.... our 3.5yo visit was so so so much better than our nearly-3yo visit. I don't know what works for your kids, but for mine, I can't talk too much about the upcoming visit or it simply increases anticipation.

3) Me either Christi.

That's cool about Gareth's teeth! Natalie is also trying to have a loose tooth.
