beach
Today was Gareth's short day at school. He gets out at 12:45 on Fridays. We were bringing a friend of his home. That friend lives about a block from the beach. So I checked outside all morning and the wind seemed to be fairly nonexistent, so I decided we'd go to the beach. I knew the boys would be up for it. We haven't been in a while because it's been so cold or windy or rainy. We ended up going with Gareth's friend Alex and his sister and their dad. It was great. It was in the upper 60s and there was hardly any wind. The water was ice cold (typical), but there was a great sand break that kids enjoyed sliding and "surfing" down.
We were there about an hour, and then the wind started to pick up. Once that happens it so much less fun. And Jonas is still fighting his cold. So we packed up and came home to warm baths.
I was glad to get out of the house; it's been cold (cold for us) and Jonas' asthma is bad in cold weather, so we've been sticking indoors for a few weeks. But today's afternoon beach break was great. And I think the boys will sleep well.
