Moving from awareness to ACTION For many years I have been following the blog Toddler Planet. She has two boys of similar ages. She a science geek (which I can only aspire to be). I felt a connection when I started reading. Then she got breast cancer. And I read through the whole ordeal. She is a survivor. Is that the right word? I don't know.
And then it hit closer to home. Two more friends were diagnosed. Both underwent treatment. Both survived.
Recently Toddler Planet posted a number of blogs on awareness. And how really, don't we have enough? Or at least a really good start? What about action?
I know that I wondered, other than donate funds, what else can I do? Well, the Avon Army of Women seems like a great place to start. As the web site says, "As a proud Army of Women member, you will regularly receive e-mails announcing new research studies and other Army of Women activities. You now have the opportunity to take a look at the studies that are currently open to see if one might be a good fit for you or someone you know."
So I encourage everyone I know to join. Take action.
