moldy pickles

Okay.. so today I did the first of my spring cleaning, which is mostly designated for April. But I did a big grocery shop and decided it was time to really clean out the fridge. I tossed a bunch of past date stuff and cleaned out a lot of tupperware and washed all the shelves. But the one thing that mystified me (at first) were the moldy pickles. I kept wondering how on earth dill pickles could get moldy. I mean, they are soaking in vinegar. Then I realized that the tops of the pickles were sticking out of the juice. That's where the mold took hold. For good or bad, I did not take a picture. But I am happy to say that I have a nice clean fridge.

1) I refer to it as removing the dead stuff but thats really is inaccurate because it really is "live". Glad you didn't send a picture:>Since there is just the two of us now we seem to have more than our share of frige casualties. When all the kids were home nothing stayed around long enough to evolve.

2) I'm a total neat freak and have to actually have someone else throw things out somtimes to keep me from throwing up. Two kids and still funky teftovers!
