so it's not perfect

I used to work in Watsonville, about 20 minutes south of Santa Cruz. It is an agricultural town. We used to refer to the "Watsonville aroma" that would happen sometimes. We'd step outside for lunch and be smacked in the face with a heavy manure smell from the farmers fertilizing the fields. It was on reason I knew I would never choose to live there.
Well, yesterday and this morning, they have been doing *something* around here. And all over Santa Cruz, west side and east (and even into Live Oak, where I live, which is technically not Santa Cruz) it has had an overwhelming manure smell. It seems to be lessening now. I hope they are done with whatever it was.

1) Hopefully the manure smell is temporary, unlike Gilroy where you smell like garlic every day of the year! I used to reside in Pittsburg, CA, a little over a decade ago. You are close to a couple of my favorite places in Northern CA besides San Francisco: Monterey and Half Moon Bay.

2) I went to high school in Pacific Grove, while living in Monterey. and I LOVE SF. I may have driven through Pittsburg, but that's about it. And yes... I do not envy the garlic smell!
