dinner, swimming, bed
I suspect Jonas is going to wake up starved. He had a good lunch. And a snack. And played a lot this afternoon. But when dinner rolled around, Gareth was hungry and came to the table. Jonas said he wasn't hungry. So I told him if he wasn't going to sit and eat with us then he had to go upstairs to the playroom. Off he went. An hour or two later when I left (for band) he still hadn't eaten. Isaiah said he wasn't hungry all night. I suspect he'll be eating a big breakfast.
But, speaking of dinner... I made this great new fangled chicken parm. I make the boys' without tomatoes, but they love the cheese/basil mixture that goes on top. Tonight as we were eating dinner, Gareth leaned over and said, "I love you mommy because you make the best cheesy chicken." It was so cute.
Okay, not speaking of dinner... Gareth started a new session of swim lessons today. I put him in the next level. I thought I was supposed to. Ooops. It was really hard. He did awesome, but it was too hard. When it was done, I had to explain to him that it was my fault he was in the wrong class because I misunderstood the way it works and he didn't need to be in that class and it was okay that he was going back to the previous level. He was quite distraught. He tried so so very hard, and he was really upset because he thought he didn't do well enough. Poor guy. I felt awful. But they do have an opening in a class at the right level, so Thursday should be good.
Last note for the evening. On the nights that I go to band, bedtime with Isaiah and Jonas has gotten phenomenally better. He no longer gets mad, and he even will cuddle with Isaiah. Tonight, though, Isaiah said he just got sad. On waiting for me to come home, Jonas said, "It taking a long mimut." (That's Jonas-speak for minute, his only definition of time at the moment.) Poor guy.
