fat daddy

Last week, we were eating some type of pork chop or something at dinner. I gave Isaiah a piece b/c it had a bit more fat around the edge than I like, and I know he likes it. I said, "Here's a piece with more fat. You can have it." Gareth wanted to know why I didn't want it and why daddy did. I told him that eating fat can make you fat, and I didn't want to get more fat. And Gareth said, "Then you'd be fat like daddy!"

We all burst out laughing.

But then tonight, out of the blue at dinner Gareth says, "Daddy, you're too fat."

Again, we laughed. The thing that I think is most comical is that I think I'm more overweight than Isaiah. And I said so, and Gareth adamantly denied it. Guess mommas are supposed to be roundish.

Totally unrelated (well, actually, maybe it is related), I've baked 9 lbs of bread and two batches of muffins in the past two days. I had some Amish Friendship bread and I was tired of restarting every 10 days, so I just wanted to bake it all. I have a hard time not using up stuff. I just can't throw it away. Anyway, I made three 1-lb loaves of chocolate bread, three 2-lb loaves of banana zucchini, three 1-lb loaves of cinnamon, one batch of regular sized cinnamon pecan muffins, and one batch of vanilla blueberry mini muffins. I plan to freeze a lot of it and pull it out as needed for breakfast and snacks. Although it is a little sweeter than I might choose, I figure it's better (and cheaper) than the Eggo waffles the boys like (and they like the bread better anyway).
