video, pics, and related text

Let's see... first I have two videos up. Background on video one: Last week, Gareth stayed home sick from school on Monday and Tuesday. Monday he was pretty sick, and a new movie was the major entertainment for the day. By Tuesday, he had a bit more energy and needed other, more engaging entertainment. I had picked up a Klutz kit on Lego Contraptions. He LOVES contraptions. Gareth will make anything into a contraption. So, the first one was building this little machine with two wheels that rolled down a string (tightrope) and used a wire clothes hangar for balance. Here is a pic of the contraption:

He loved it. And here it is: http://homepage.mac.com/isaiah/2008Movies/iMovieTheater...

The second video is Jonas in his three-year-old glory. Spinning. You can see at the end that he just can't keep himself vertical any longer. It was darling.

Next, you can head over to my photo album for some pics of Ben's Second Birthday (http://www.humzoo.com/girlcarew/photos/19/). I noticed, though, as I was uploading and captioning pictures, that the only pic I have of Ben is blurry (so it's not up). Bad me, considering it was is birthday party. In my defense... when we got there (Berkeley), Ben was playing. Jonas was sleeping in the car, and Gareth wanted to play. However a 6yo does not want to play with the same things as a 2yo usually. They did eventually come together to dig some sand and put it in dump trucks, but that's where my picture is blurry. When we met back up at Betsy and Tracy's house, Ben took a nap (after some unhappy moments). And later, more people came and I was focused on things other than taking pics. So, there's my defense.

You can, however, see the boys in their YourHead Software (http://www.yourhead.com ) t-shirts. It was rather warm, but I had only brought the shirts they were wearing, which were long sleeve. I scrounged the car and found these shirts, which Isaiah had printed before SF Mac World (in Jan 2007). They were a little big, but the boys didn't mind their 80s look.

Gareth made me a darling card for Mother's Day. He asked what my favorite color is (green), my favorite animal (I picked cat so it would be something he'd have a chance at drawing), and my favorite game. I chose Pente, but he wanted it to be something he knew. So I picked Clue, but he thought I meant Blues Clues (since we had played it the day before). He included drawings of me, himself, and Jonas.

And I am sporting a lovely new accessory

I have tendonitis. Bad. The doc says I'll probably be wearing this brace for at least a month, and likely two. He said I should only take it off to shower. But he is not a mom. I also have to take it off to do dishes, bathe the kids, and clean the house (at least the bathrooms). I just hope it does get better! It hurts.

And finally.. the end of the marathon (for me) update. I made some cards for my husband for Mother's day... one for his mom and one for his grandmother. You can check them out at http://www.humzoo.com/girlcarew/photos/1/11/
