shiny teeth

Dude... I should so get an award for this. So, Jonas hates brushing his teeth. H.A.T.E.S. with a passion. So tonight, I told him if he didn't brush his teeth they'd get rotten and all fall out and he wouldn't be able to eat blueberries or oranges or any of his favorite foods. In typical Jonas fashion, he said that was ok and that he didn't want to eat any more. I said then that we had to polish he teeth so that when we pulled them all out they would be nice and shiny. And he went for it. So we polished (aka brushed) his teeth to be sure they were shiny and ready to be pulled. Whew... brushing teeth with no serious struggle makes my evening SO much better.

1) My granddaughter Caroline is 6 and it has been a real battle. Her mom finally started using an old fashion 2 minute egg timer with the sand-only its pink, of course. She likes flipping it herself and no longer fights the routine.

2) Just wait until he starts pulling them. That's what happened to me.

3) Galvin used to battle the teeth-brushing routine, and I must admit, we're not very consistent...if we get them once a day, we're lucky. I did go out and buy a bunch of toothbrushes, and he likes the variety. He also likes to watch himself in his own mirror, too, and sometimes, we sing the "20 times up, 20 times down" song--it's from Lazytown.

Good luck!
