memorial day weekend - a little late
Here are just a few pics from our Memorial Day weekend. One morning, we had some time to kill and some friends were going to a park. I had heard that the park had a new play structure, so I was interested to check it out. WOW.

Oh, and we had a Memorial Day weekend party. It went well. Jonas showed his true love of watermelon. He, literally, ate half a water melon. At bedtime, his belly was taut. And about two hours later, his bed was soaked.

Our party was on Saturday. On Monday we went a party at an old friends. It was very mellow.... which was nice. Here is Gareth making some giant bubbles. (Oh, and this was the party/patio where I broke my camera.)

Also, go check out the pics from our strawberry picking: http://www.humzoo.com/girlcarew/photos/24/1/

1) That looks like lots of fun. I love to make those big bubbles. What do the kids have planned for the summer?
2) Next week I'm hoping to take them camping for a couple of days. Then Gareth has beach baseball camp. Never done it, but he's excited. Then one week of nothing. Then they are going to do three half days a week at school (where Gareth graduated from). They are going together b/c Jonas will be going four days in the fall, and I am worried about his transition. So, they are doing the first summer session together (part time), then Jonas will do the second one on his own (part time). Part of me would rather them have more time off, but, like I said, I am worried about the transition for Jonas. We also might be going to San Diego for a week (visit family). We were going to do LegoLand, but now I'm worried about costs. Later in the summer Gareth is also doing a one-week Aikido summer camp. And maybe some art classes here or there. But his August is fairly free. I am sure that there will be many beach trips and day trips to other activities. And at least one more camping trip. And probably a bit of stay-at-home days. A hodge podge really. =)
3) That is a very cool climbing aparatus. Your summer sounds like it will be busy. Why does summer go so much faster than winter?
