6) Take the left side of the rind in your left hand, take the right side of the rind into your right hand. Bury your face between your hands and eat away! You need to bend at the waist because you will have a tremendous amount of melon-juice dribbling off your chin. Coming up for air is allowed if you are spitting out seeds, which is permissible with the use of your teeth and tongue. If your eyebrows are dry when finished you need to stand a little closer to your melon!! When finished you walk into the local creek for a little dip to wash the melon-juice off your face and hands. Now that's the way to eat melon - and by the way, it's not necessary to cut them, they break open nicely when slammed against a rock. stheinz   Thursday, July 2, 2009
