Humzoo Survey

1) How do you feel about the feature on sites like Facebook and Twitter that allows you to "look up" your friends by providing your email address and password? Is that something you would or would not do. I'm curious why either way.

I never done that. Even with Linked In or Twitter. I usually know a few people to look for.

2) What are your thoughts on friend acceptance and rejection in social networks? Good or bad?

Can't we all be friends? It seems like I start out being very selective on who is considered my 'friend' but in the end I accept everyone.

3) Twittering and Powncing. Both have changed the immediacy of connecting people. First it was mass email, then it was blogging (public channel), then it was social networking, then it became twittering what you are currently doing. Is that good or bad?

Is it good or bad? I've found it to be quite helpful with the people I'm connected with on Twitter. If I've got a code or server issue, I can usually pop a question out there and get a reply by the end of the day.

4) Privacy, how important is it to you that your site is only accessible by certain people? How anonymous do you care to be?

Anymore, I am pretty much an open book when it comes to communication. If it's something I don't want the internet to know about, I simply don't tell the internet. That's as long as your darling wife doesn't upload an embarrassing video and it gets spread to all of your coworkers.

5) To what degree of control do you want over the overall look and feel of your web site? Do you want to be able to completely redesign the layout from the ground up or do you like that being done for you with some options to look and feel different?

I don't think this is my question to answer, but it would be cool if you added some more features to the blog section like autosave, drafts, embedded objects (youtube videos).

6) If you could have your own custom domain name for your web site would you buy one? I never know if this is a geek thing or if everyone would like one.

Total geek thing to do!

7) eBay vs Craigslist. Do you pay for the legal protection and managed transaction or do you go the free route and put faith in the citizens of your community.

I've never bought anything off of ebay.

8) RSS feeds? Who uses them? How many people know what they are?

I use the heck out of them.

9) Do you surf the tubes from a mobile device? If you could upload photos from that device would you?

Yes. No.
10) How important is the quality of video and photos to you? Does size matter? Would you rather have a faster video with poor quality or would you wait a little longer to watch a high definition video if you could?

I prefer good quality videos and photos that are at least 500px wide.

1) Can I expect a check in the mail for participating in your survey? If you don't have any cash you could mail me Buddy. He would have fun with Crissy playing leap frog.
I don't use any other social networks except Humzoo so I doubt my opinion is worth much to you. I can answer the Ebay question. I have ordered things through that site. I only got ripped off once when I ordered a rug that never came. When I got around to trying to finding out why, the seller was "out of business". I paid with Paypal but they told me that since the transaction was over 30 days they couldn't help. Humpf! That is the only time I had a problem. One thing you learn quickly is to pay careful attention to shipping charges. Sellers often charge rediculous prices to ship. I have gotten GREAT deals on Ebay like a Bose radio for $100 (works great) and a Garmin GPS (new) for half of retail price.
Good luck with the survey.

2) I read your blog before Denny's and thought you posted the survey. I did wonder why you were answering your own questions, but hey you're Shoo so I expect the unexpected. Sorry...I'll go crawl under a rock now.

3) Not what I would've expected. You seriously have never bought anything off of eBay? I once bought a vintage Dukes of Hazzard watch that played Dixie on the hour. Where else are you gonna find one of those.
