Dear Science.
I have a love-hate relationship with iTunes. I love it because it is waaaaay to easy to buy music. Especially through my iPod touch. I hate it because, well it's iTunes and I am too lazy go searching through Amazon's MP3 store.
So new music I've bought this week. (Mrs. Shoo, if you're reading this, you got to go to the fabric store and that shirt you bought at Target that you hid horribly. We're even.)
Anyways...
So I bought TV On the Radio's new one, Dear Science. I don't have any fancy adjectives you'd see on Pitchfork or Rolling Stone, but it's good. Better than Return to Cookie Mountain and up there with their first release, Desperate Youth, Blood Thirsty Babes.
And because it's Sunday night and I am already getting calls from work and I think I deserve some good music to start Monday with.... I downloaded Blitzen Trapper's 2008 release, Furr.
Now, I've never heard of Blitzen Trapper before tonight, but after several 20 second listen of tracks from the album, I was sold. Think The Avett Brothers' soul meets Jason Mraz's upbeat toonage meets John Butler Trio's lyrical funkiness and you've got Furr.
I haven't given a full listen yet, but it's definitely a 4 star album reaching for 5.
So what other new music is out there that I should be listening too?
Ohh, and if you're curious to what else I've been listening to, I scrobble all my stuff on last.fm.
