Monday, June 1st, 2009New Name for GM AS OF 08:00 Hours, this morning the new name for General Motors Corporation has become Government Motors. The take over of GM by the government is the second major step in making the United States a Socialist Republic. I have warned about many times before; however, many of the Liberals and Supporters,especially those that hated George W. Bush, have seen their dreams come true. It is a terrible day in the history of the United States, when the Federal Government has to take control of a major US manufacturing corporation because the UAW supported his royal highness president Barack. The UAW along with rear sighted management caused the demise of this company. Magament was told by their dealers in the 80s that the Japanese and Germans were building automobiles that were far superior and that they sold at prices that as low as GM. I don't feel sorry for GM or Chrysler because they brought it on themselves, but I don't like governtment controlled manufacting or government health plans.

Please tell us what exactly Market Competition is. I will tell you what it is not. It is not market competition when one manufacturer has to incur health care costs for its workers while the other manufacturer does not. It is not competition when one company can hire children for pennies a day while the other company can not. It is not market competition when the playing field is not level.
In this situation, I support tariffs. We have a huge trade imbalance and based on national security concerns we need our car companies to survive and thrive.
To make blanket statements regarding the distaste of decades of liberal presidents is bold and most likely lacking fair evaluation. Even the worst president has done a few good things that everyone can applause. The presidents listed by BeanCounter were some of the best and highest ranked presidents(pollwise) of our country's history. And in most cases that had little to do with their party but how they handled the current affairs and state of the country during their time in office.
John McCain was clueless. I wanted Romney. I still believe he was the best guy for the job. He was conservative and the smartest one on the campaign trail and he had a successful track record of turning both businesses and governments around.
But the right wing Christian base black balled him because he was a Mormon. I am not sure that he would have won but he would have done a much better job than McCain.
