If ever you are in a similar situation...

So here is a combination of youth, inexperience, curiosity and guilt.

Driving home I see an ambulance coming up from behind at a red light. Sure I could have gunned it and gone like the guy in front of me at the light, but a pulled ahead a little so we could merge and make a lane then stopped.

That was good.

Then I had to watch an EMT pump on this guy's chest for 15 minutes. The road turns to 3 lanes. 20 minutes. They're going 15 miles under the speed limit and I'm wondering if, in 3 lanes, "can you pass an ambulance"? (The two others cars didn't, but I just thought maybe no one knew. I'm usually the one to figure out questions' answers.)

So, like when I wondered what would happen when if i put my thumb in wheel of a grocery cart when I was 5 and tried and ripped off my thumb nail, I slowly passed the ambulance and the driver got on his little speaker and yelled at me (unaudibley), turned on his siren and flashed his lights more.

So I got off the road and got back behind them (again having to watch the sad CPR).

Now I feel a really stupid and pretty guilty.

So if ever you find yourself in a similar situation, stay behind the bus. (If you didn't already know.) *sigh*

(Hope it's not a bad weekend ahead) *kow*

Why was the ambulance going so slow?

I guess because they were working on the person inside; there were 3 EMTs working on trying to keep/bring back alive. Idk. Seems like a lot though.

They might have been trying to get a line in or to intubate him. Usually thry pull off but they might not have had a choice.
