Thank You Leslie!

I got a lilttle side-tracked the past few days and kept meaning to post this blog, but on Tuesday, when I went down to get the mail for my office (I like to do it cause it gets me out of my chair), I had a nice surprise waiting for me c/o Humzoo's very own Leslie.

Prompted by this blog, Leslie kindly asked for my address and sent me a gift to "help me along the way".

When I opened the envelope I was absolutely delighted to see this:

Little did Leslie know that I almost bought that book two weeks ago at Borders!! I totally want to take a road trip some day and I wanted to peruse the book and check off places more important to me than others. It's been a busy week for me so I haven't had a chance to dogear the places yet but I'm excited to look though it, make plans in my head and revise my "Bucket List", which now will include learning how to make doilies.

So thank you so much, Leslie, it means a lot to me that you took the time, thought and effort to send me this book --- and one that I almost bought myself! :) :)

Humzoo people rock.

1) Aren't surprises in the mail the greatest!!!!??? I hope you will share your list of the places you really want to see.

2) Leslie, that was a very nice thing to do for Hayley. Just keeps showing how generous Humzoo folks are (so much for that blogger slam I just finished reading). Hayley, do it. You will never regret it or forget it. Read that message on Will's picture for Baby Mitchell again. I did that when I was 29 or so and spent 5 weeks on the road--going to the places I wanted to see. I had some places that were "for sure" places but the rest was serendipity. I met great people, saw awesome things. I know the cost of fuel will make it tough but it's worth the investment AFTER you get your finances in order! :) In the meantime, you have a book to drool over and plan.

3) You are very welcome! After I sent it I read your blog about paying off bills & I thought maybe it wasn't appropriate. However you have plenty of years ahead of you to cross places off your list. My oldest son gave me a copy for my birthday and I have put post its on many pages that I'd love to visit. I hope you enjoy it.

4) Considering that we just got back from a family trip last week - one that my father decided we should go on - I think that this is something that would make a great gift for him.

Please remind me about this, when September comes... :-)
