About Angi
Let's take it from the top...I was born in Peoria, Illinois, some 43ish years ago to "Jack" and Gloria Burton, and I have two younger sibs, Val and Joe. Mom still lives in the house where we were raised; sadly, dad passed away from a liver metstasis in '02. My sister lives in Pekin with her two children, Cody and Cali, and she is a single mother AND a saint. Here's why: Cody goes to PCHS on an IEP because he had a traumatic brain injury on 7/1/07, after being struck by an SUV while riding his bicycle. He'll never be the same person he was before the accident, but he's still alive. Cali JoAnn is in the 5th grade and has a boatload of GREAT girlfriends. Oh yeah, she's also in remission from Ewing's Sarcoma and has a prosthetic Tibia and knee joint that was surgically put into her leg in September of 2007 at St. Jude Memphis. She undergoes routine testing every 12 weeks at OSF St. Jude in Peoria, Illinois. If you'd like to visit her site at the Caring Bridge, it's under my links. And as for my brother, well, he's just Joe: NASCAR fan, hard-working guy and about the kindest man you'll ever meet. And quiet. Very quiet. Oh, and he broods sometimes, which can get irritating.

Now as for me, well, I don't know how far I'll get before some preschooler or toddler interjects for some Momma loving--that'll stop me in my tracks, first and foremost--but here goes: I'm Angi Davis, born Angela Leigh Burton, and as noted above, I'm from the Peoria area, which I love; however, I don't plan to live there again, though I do enjoy visiting, and there is plenty to do there. I just feel that it isn't the best place to raise children in downstate Illinois. Anyhow, I've lived in Central IL pretty much all my life with the exception of the better part of a year spent in the Bay Area of California trying to "find myself," which I did and promptly hauled my ass back to Illinois! Good thing because a little over a year later I landed my job in Springfield at LDS where I would meet my future.

After working together for six months, then dating for nine more, Bill Davis and I were engaged during our vacation trip to San Francisco in October 1998. He proposed at dinner in a nice restaurant in Sausalito, California, that overlooks San Francisco Bay. About 11 months later, we made it official, celebrating with about 250 of our closest family and friends. We relocated to Bloomington-Normal a couple months before our wedding in order for me to finish my English education degree at ISU. Afterward, I subbed in both B-N districts until 2005, when our son, Galvin Montgomery, was born. In 2006, I opened my in-home daycare until Susannah Gwendolyn was born, but decided to dedicate a year to her, as well, reopening the daycare earlier this year, in September 2008. Galvin is now three-and-a-half years old and Gwendolyn is 18 months old and growing daily or so it seems.

Besides an in-home daycare business, I also do floral design for weddings, parties and/or other events, as well as professional organization both commercially and residentially. My husband (Pastafarian) became seriously interested in photography after Galvin's birth, and I've always had an interest, so we "bit the bullet" and decided to start a business shooting engagements, senior photos and weddings. So, I'm his "second shooter" and official poser.

Besides all of the above, I enjoy playing with my kids, talking to them, educating them and loving them; they are my life! Before I had children, I liked to cross-stitch and scrapbook. Maybe I will again, someday. HA! Until then, HumzOo will be my "hobby."
