DOUG (next-door neighbor) to GALVIN: "Hiya, school boy...got a girlfriend, yet?"
GALVIN: "Yeah! And I got a boyfriend, too!"

How's THAT for diversity?! Pfffttt!!!

2) Sweet!

I hate it when people ask my kids if they have a boyfriend or a girlfriend.

I don't like heterosexuality being promoted over other lifestyles. And also, they're small children.

4) Not that I don't think one choice be promoted over another, but I think 5 is a little young to be taking on the responsibility of a relationship. All kids need to worry about is why mom packed pb&J instead of ham, or why recess isn't long enough. Lets save the kissing, groping, and heartbreaks for a few years, shall we?

5) Yes, the term girlfriend and boyfriend mean different things to a healthy 5 year old! Go Galvin!

6) I agree that some people say stupid things all the time, but it is so sweet that it doesn't matter who is his friend, boys or girls.
The minds of kids are such special little gifts (until they back talk)

7) That and we really don't care whether has one or the other, both or neither...just not NOW! He can go through all that in high school. Or not.
