Teenage Angst Gone Awry

You know, there are many aspects of adolescence that I feel that I can handle, but the one my nephew sprang on his mother last night...well, I'm not sure what my reaction would be.

Yes, this baby-faced teenage boy will be a father by the end of the year, and at the young age of 38 years old, my sister will be a grandmother.

Any thoughts from Humzooers? I could use some advice here.

It has become pretty common these days. What is his relationship with the mom to be? So much hinges on that.

They actually broke up about 10 days ago; she is heartbroken, but he's a boy, and they don't share feelings quite as easily. I don't know what he's thinking, yet, but I aim to find out.

my cousin is now 21 but turned up preg-o by a real douche bag (not that she is a winner herself) when she was 16/17. Cameron is a great little 4 year old and i am glad he is here but that sure put the kabosh on whatever ambitions my cousin may have had. now the baby daddy has knocked up another young girl and cameron doesn't get to see him very much (is that good or bad, i don't know) so yeah, your nephew is about to have a real wake-up call. hopefully, he will man up to his responsibility even though it's gonna cramp his life-style. my little brother is 16 and i hope he doesn't surprise me like that any time soon.

Teenage pregnancy is a real heartaache but what is most important now is the life of that innocent child. I hope the families can work together to come to a good solution for the baby's sake even if that means adoption.

So, the boy will not be a father. This time. His girlfriend had a miscarriage. It's relief, actually...

Hopefully both of these young people have learned something from this very sad experience.
