Three years ago...THREE YEARS!...the second "love of my life" was born in Lincoln, Illinois, and it was love at first sight for me, The Momma. Can you blame me??

Daddy was still in shock and awe even after Mr. G came home...

We spent our days totally consumed by Galvin Montgomery, especially in the early days, then we had a slight mishap--The Momma broke her leg in a fall that included dropping Galvin, who ended up without a mark on him...

However, a wheelchair became part of our family for four long months. *sigh* Once we recovered from that incident, life was in full swing again, and our boy was growing like a weed. Soon, he celebrated his 1st birthday! And yes, this is a photo of my son rejecting the cutest and tastiest elephant cake on earth (which was made by Dave & Courtney's sister-in-law, Cindy)...

After turning a year old, The Momma and Daddy decided that Galvin should have a sibling to play with, fight with, and help him take care of us in our old age, so during the holiday season of 2006, we announced that he would be a BIG BROTHER after his 2nd birthday; he was completely shocked!

In the blink of an eye, Spring turned into Summer, and Galvin's 2nd birthday was upon us - we celebrated with our families, friends and another GREAT cake made by Cindy...

...and as promised, he became Susannah Gwendolyn's BIG BROTHER three weeks later.

Of course there are days when I'm sure Galvin would like us to take Gwen right back where she came from, but most of the time, he'd be lost without her, and we soon got into a routine as a family of four. By Christmas, life was beginning to return to "normal," and we spent a lot of time with our family, especially Cousin Cali...

After ringing in the New Year (2008), we all looked forward to good things for the world, and Galvin began to interact with his sister more and more, not only during playtime, but with hugs and kisses - he is a very kind little guy. He's also going to be a wonderful Daddy someday and help out his wife with duties like changing diapers, feeding the baby and nursing. Yes, I said nursing...

As the months have passed leading up to Galvin's 3rd birthday, I have noticed many, many changes in my guy. He's much taller than last year, especially his legs. He has what seems to be an unlimited vocabulary that also includes some "choice" words, such as: da-mutt, Jesus! and dum-b-a-yus ...yes, all pronounced as they are spelled here. His motor skills are also improving, allowing him to run faster, jump stairs, climb and almost pedal a riding toy. Yes, my little boy is growing up...now, if we could just get him potty trained before his 11-month-old sister, we'll be all set!

Happy Birthday, Galvin! You are my love-love...

I have a big connection to my family and prefer names with meaning [to us] versus more popular names - my sister objected profusely in the beginning [thinking they'd be made fun of for their names or would have a harder time spelling such "long" names], but she's since come around.
Thanks for asking!
