More G1 Thoughts

I'm really enjoying the G1 so far! From playing with the iPhone and now having the G1, they are pretty comparable for what they can do. We are not 3G here yet in St. Louis. It is still on the Edge network, and it is pretty good, although, I'm really excited to see what the 3G is like when it comes here. They say it should be by January.

I'm having fun with the applications, too. I love Shop Savvy. It scans the barcode of a product and tells you what it costs both locally and on the web. I saved $10 using that application today. Woohoo! I also like Shazam. That app will be awesome when I start downloading music.

The touch screen is going a lot better for me, too. I think I just had to figure out how to get used to using it. Now that I understand it, I love it. The GPS feature is really neat. Since it is google based, you can get the GPS to show the various ways that Google maps do, too. (Street view, traffic view, satellite view, etc) A little blue dot follows me around.

The trackball and the back button are two of my favorite parts of the actual phone. I use them all of the time.

With that said, I love the phone, but we still aren't sure if we'll keep them past the 14 days. We need to decide if all of these awesome features are really worth the extra $50/month for the data plans for both of our phones.

2) Maybe that Shop Savvy can make you $50 savings a month to afford the phone. Sounds like a great app! Glad you are enjoying it if only for the 14 days!!
