Peachy keen

Well, our baby is about the size of a peach now, and we heard it's heartbeat again yesterday at our second appt with the OBGYN. Amazing sound. I now can't wait for the next sonogram and finding out if we're having a boy or a girl. I will be equally happy regardless, it's just going to be fun to know.

I had a short interview today, to be followed by a second interview tomorrow and I am extremely hopeful. I think this evening's interview went great, so I'm looking forward to tomorrow.

In completely unrelated news, I bought our cat a toy on clearance at PetSmart last week and she is obsessed with it now. It's one of those sticks with a feather on the string. She loves playing with it and actually lays with it when we're not playing with her. Our pug just watches her like she's stupid for wasting her energy when she could instead be rooting around for dropped food or laying with mom or dad.

In yet more unrelated news, I'm going to see the Dark Knight tomorrow night with some friends. Looking forward to it and hoping I have good news to share with said friends.

1) Congrats on your little Peach. I know that is fun and exciting.

Cats love those toys. We used to sell tons of them. Mine especially loved the one where the feather was on a pivoting connection so it could spin around. I would whirl it in the air and they would get crazy like a bird was loose in the house. Another great one is a stick with a lot piece of fleece like a big string. If you find that one--you will find another winner.

Good luck with your interviewing. Hope it works out great!

I'm still wondering about the arrest of Christian Bale--can't imagine him assaulting a 61 year old woman--and his mother too. Wonder how that will all work out. I've always liked him and would hate to see him slammed by the media. Hopefully the other side of the story might make more sense of it. As to the movie--don't think you will be disappointed--it is great!

2) I love Christian Bale. He's my huge celebrity crush. I hope it isn't true that he assaulted her. That would just ruin him for me.

3) Just heard an update. He issued a statement saying it wasn't true and supposedly it involved a long running family feud. We'll see how the story plays out but it still seems odd to me that a sister AND mother would go to the police with the story--instead of dealing with it in the family but as Merrick said there are always two sides to the story--maybe he saw Heath Ledger dressed as he was in the movie (promise, no spoilers!) and had a reflex reaction. :)

4) Thanks, L Grant! I got the job, so I guess you could say that it did indeed work out!

Don't know about Christian Bale's personal issues with his family, but I just got back from seeing Dark Knight, and it was good. Not as good (in my opinion) as all the hype I'd heard leading up to it, but I can't deny Heath Ledger stole the show and gave a very memorable and fitting last performance.

I just kept waiting for someone to offer Batman a throat lozenge in the film. :D
