Where does the time go...

This wednesday is my last day of school, the kids got out last Wednesday on June 11th, so I have spent the last week getting ready to close down for the summer. When I am not running myself ragged at work, I have been reading this totally addictive series of books. One of our kindergarten teachers came in and dropped a book on my desk and says "You will read this in one night, then I will give you the second one." When I looked down I saw a book called "Twilight" by Stephanie Meyer. I read, but not fast, and at 498 pages, I thought it would take me a few days to get through it. But as soon as I started to read it, I couldn't put it down. She was so right, I finished it in a day. I borrowed the second one "New Moon" and did the same thing. I am not sure what it is about these books, but I am hooked. I bought the third book "Eclipse" and went through it as fast as the first two. I realized after I read these, I had totally ignored humzoo, but I could not stop reading the books. The fourth one, "Breaking Dawn" comes out in August and "Twilight" has been made into a movie and will be out in December. I can't wait. I have been sucked into this world, and if you have read it, you might know what I am talking about.

1) My daughter read this book a couple months ago. Her English teacher had highly recommended it to her. It's been real popular in the Middle School this year. Now I think I should read it too!

2) It seems a little older than middle school, but definitely in the young adult age group. It is a great read and you just seem to get lost in the characters.

3) Hm... I am thinking .. humzoo book club?? I just started Devil in the White City only because my sister had recommended it after I finished my last Harry Potter book and Marley and Me. This sounds like another great possible read. Thanks for sharing the series and ENJOY your time off you deserve it!

4) I loved Marley and Me! I've been looking for more books to read. I just recently finished Me Talk Pretty One Day by David Sedaris. Not really the same genre but it got me back into the need to read.

6) Hey K8!! I've also been reading this series, causing a declind in my Humzoo participation. I'm behind you though - I've only just started the second one, and is it just me, or is it starting out a little slow? I have faith that it will pick up if you've made it through each of them!!

7) Casey, the second one is much slower and it seems as if you will never finish at point, but only because what the character is going through.

Betsy, it is about a girl who falls in love with a vampire. They are in high school, but it does not focus there. It is more mature and deeper than you would expect.

8) Larson wrote another book (similar to Devil in the White City, I've heard) called Thunderstruck although I've not read that one.

10) K8, I LOVE Stephanie Meyer. Her new one "The Host" is awesome!!

Betsy, the books are basically about a town in which both a vampire family and a group of werewolves live, but the townspeople don't know. It's an amazing series. I finished all three of them in one weekend.
