And the name is.....
Charlotte Rebecca Day!
Joe and I picked her name and revealed it to the party goers at our shower this afternoon. Charlotte is a name from my mom's side of the family and Rebecca is a name from Joe's side. Rebecca Day was the mother of William Herndon, Abraham Lincoln's law partner. Since we live in the land of Lincoln, we thought it only fitting we have an historical name for our little girl. We are very excited and looking forward to meeting her in just 5.5 short weeks.

I also want to put a special note out to Ames! She helped my mom throw the shower today and she went above and beyond! It was wonderful down to the little ducky shaped ice cubes she made for the drinks. She made the cake as well, two 3-D ducks!! One was pink and the other was yellow. They were a big hit. Thank you Amy, from the bottom of my heart, your love for your niece showed through all you did today. She is going to be one lucky girl to have family that loves her so!

1) I hope we get to see that cake!! Sounds like Ames outdid herself. I love the name and the significance. And I love that you didn't spell any of those names oddly! From someone who deals with "clever" spelling of names all the time--I salute you! Hard to believe it is only a little more than a month before you and Joe are parents! I know this is an exciting time!

4) Awwwwwww you guyyyyys! I'm getting all teary eyed now. I'm so glad you liked it. You guys are totally worth it and I'm just so happy that your little girl is gonna grow up so close to us. I'll have to admit I thought about that many times today. I'm just so very VERY glad that you live where you do (and not on a coast very far away). You're such an important part of our lives and I wanted you to have an awesome shower to celebrate the two of you and Charlotte.

PS- We're still a go on calling her Charlie, right? Cause I love that!

5) As a lucky partygoer, I can also vouch for the darling duckie cakes that Amy made. And the ducks were swimming in blue water! So very cute and so delicious....one cake was yellow and one was strawberry. And duckie candy and duckie ice cubes and duckies swimming in pails and pink and yellow all around.....a very beautiful shower for baby Charlotte! I can't wait to meet her!
