Need Help @ Work

Hey Guys! I need a life line....I am trying to drop a picture into a word document. It is saved as a gif. I have tried to copy and paste and the word doc won't let me copy the pic into the word file. It will put it on the office clipboard, but won't bring it into the doc or offer me that option? Any suggestions?

1) did you do insert > picture ?

maybe it wants a jpeg?

2) I'm not sure that MS Word will recognize a .gif as a photograph/picture; sometimes you need the appropriate filter for that. See if you can save that .gif file as a .jpeg, then drop it. Just a suggestion.

3) What version of Word? 2003? 2007? Usually I can simply drag the file from a folder into the document and it'll paste it right in. Jpeg or Gif.
