The other obsession...

I realize I should be happy because I've hit most of the blue dots and feel good about my fix for the night but since I just finished baking and I really didn't get a chance to play with the new camera and uploading photos last night--I have to do another one about baking (remember--I didn't get a chance to do one yesterday!)

The recipe is from Betty Crocker's site.

First mix the Peanut Butter Cookie dough. Make 6 PB cookies and bake them (if your oven is bigger than mine you can do both at the same time) and cool them. Put the rest of the dough in a 9x13 pan and spread it evenly (I use a piece of plastic wrap to smooth it without sticking to it). Bake each or both together for 10-12 mins. in 350 degree oven. Looks like this:

While that cools, you mix 1/2 stick of butter with 1 1/4 c. chocolate chips in the microwave and melt until smooth.

Pour chocolate over PB crust and spread evenly. Put in fridge and cool until firm.

Mix whipping cream, peanut butter, powdered sugar and cream cheese until well-mixed and fluffy and spread this evenly over cooled chocolate layer.

Break cookies into large crumbles

Scatter over the top of the PB/Cream Cheese/Cream mixture and press slightly into the mixture with your hand.

Voila! Chocolate-Cream Cheese-Peanut Butter Bars

(Merritt will love these--someone bake them for her when she visits!)

I think that I will need to make those ASAP. I did bake some cookies last night. I'll have to wait until those are all gone or I will be in serious trouble!

You won't regret it. If you cannot find the packaged cookie mix in CAN, I'm sure any PB cookie recipe (that doesn't make 10 dz cookies!) will work in that place. I've never made these yet that they weren't raved over and devoured. One co-worker won a "Grant Goody Gift Certificate" and requested this recipe for her prize--even knowing she had other options. She loved them so much from a previous time--that was the one "prized". Let me know what you think after you make them.
