A good place to watch the river or people - when it isn't raining or cold or windy. Or even if it is--a good place to take a break.

I had no idea it was so pretty! I'll add this to my list of places to see someday.

Thanks, Niki. I'll do my best!

Courtney, I'm sure you would think it even more beautiful when the sun is up but I love it at this time of day. Worth the trip in to visit it--even on vacation. I have more to share but I'll save them for part II and maybe part III of my first day of vacation. :)

Matt and I were there last May for our 5 year anniversary. It is such a gorgeous place. We loved The Farm Cafe, the tea house and Chinese gardens and the awesome parks. It seemed like there were parks on every block! I'm also jealous of the black rich soil that makes all of the flowers so happy there.

Thanks for the great walking tour. My favorite way to travel. I can't walk to work because it is 11, but I'll do a driving tour when the weather is warm and things are blooming.

Look forward to it. Portland is such a walking and biking place--hard not to share. I had to wait until it got light enough to see it but hopefully I'll have more soon. We're only 1/3 of the way around. :)

Thanks! I'll try. Not too many people get up at 4 AM and walk for two hours in very windy conditions on their vacation but it was so cool to be out there knowing I didn't have to go in to work but could walk as long as I wanted and catch a bus home afterwards to enjoy the rest of the day at home. I hope to go walk the loop every morning as I did today. A good way to get the blood flowing.

Awesome photos Linda. I really like this one the best. Looks like you are getting the hang of that new camera pretty quickly!

Why did I know when I took it that you'd enjoy this one most? Maybe it is that skewed way you look at life...uh...through the camera lens that is. I was proud of it being featured on the home page so long. I've arrived! :)
