2) Neither. I believe Dylan had a few vanilla ones. Yes, I got the note and VERY cute picture of her with her birthday cake (Dylan-sized one!). Thank you for the very nice note AND picture. :)

3) You don't have to thank me for the thank you note. I just wanted to make sure they did not get lost in the mail, especially because I got them out so late (but I think I get bonus points for including pictures with everyone's). :)

5) Oooooh. I thought they were homemade donuts and I was feeling weak in the knees.
They do look like great cakes, though!

6) I did make some cake donuts (doughnuts) once, Pegi, but it's really hard to get the oil just right without an electric skillet or fancy fry machine. Too hot and you end up with raw insides and overdone outsides. Too low and you get soggy and oily. I've considered buying an electric fryer but then I'd have to make lots of doughnuts to justify another pan in the kitchen to deal with storing! The ones I made turned out pretty good but they were a lot of work with the rolling and cutting and rising of them for so little return! :) Have you seen the quick donuts made with canned biscuits? Easy and fast but they look really good.
