The English Trifle - the dessert goes back to the 1800s. There are trifle recipes that you can use but I usually make it up as I go along. Anything will work but traditionally it is layers of cake, custard and fruit. Here you see my palette for assembling my Berry Trifle.

Leslie Tuesday, July 29, 20082) All but the blueberries were used (and one box of the strawberries for ME!). I've already used some of the blueberries in another item (I'll post that now that I have photo loading ability again--long story). I can't wait to hear if it worked or not. Now I have more blueberries but I think most of them will go into me eating them as they are. And I have another couple of ideas to use the others in a cake and/or a coffeecake.
