I tried hard to come up with a different title to this album. "The Great American Wedding Cake" "Look How Much I've Learned After Denny&Niki's Wedding Cake" "Maybe I Should Start My Own Baking Business" ....but the one I used is more apropo.
ShareThe start seemed good. Not the best. My baking was delayed nearly 2 hours waiting for an important phone call that really could have been missed. I tried to rally though and hit the kitchen. My oven was preheating nicely and my pans were prepped (see above) and my ingredients were at room temperature.
Speaking of temperature...that was my second less than happy state. It was muggy and sticky. The temperature wasn't that bad but we'd had several days of warm/hot weather that had heated my house so it was still pretty warm. I tried some windows but the air was so tepid it really didn't do a lot to improve things. So, I was late starting; overheated and heading to work in a warmer kitchen.
