It's nearly 10 AM on a Saturday--do you know where your cake is?

I've assembled and decorated the cake. Other than an attack by a bowl (I swear they stalk and leap on wedding cakes from 3 ft. away!) and a few repairs due to getting the layers centered and the seam between cakes smoothed, things appear to be going well. Still a few hours until I put it in the car and make that dangerous drive to the reception hall.

3) Linda, you're hilarious! And your cake is beautiful!!! Wow, I can really appreciate it after hearing about the struggle you went through. It looks great and I'm sure it tastes great also. Now we can't wait to hear about its trip to the reception hall. Good luck!!!

5) Linda,
You did a great job with the cake! It is beautiful and the bride and groom should be very pleased with it!!
How did you make the little red flowers on the sides of the cake? Is that icing or a special candy flower or what?
Know you are relieved to have this project completed! It must have been a labor of love!?!?!

6) Gull, I think I mentioned it somewhere else--maybe not. They are little silk buds that I bought at Michael's. They came in bundles. I cut the bundles apart and pushed the flower into the cake taking advantage of the florist wire used to create the flower. I'm no flower maker. These gave it some pretty without me having to use a cake decorating piping bag. LOL

I'm very relieved. Tomorrow I'm back to the baking I know making some chocolate mint sticks for work and possibly whipping up a trifle with leftover wedding cake and strawberry filling. Waste not! :)

Thanks for the compliment. I'm sure someone as talented as SATenor could have done a better job with the decorating but hopefully the taste will make up for any decorating flaws on my part. LOL
