My yard is starting to look like a UFO convention. X-Files may visit any day.

How many bird feeders do you have? Is it a UFO convention?

If you count suet feeders and hummingbird feeders, there are around 12. :)

When the x-files DO visit, make sure they don't bring any more bird feeders.

Nice! Very interesting feeders you have here. I am sure the birds appreciate your kindness.

It's a crazy mix of feeders trying to find what works best in this area. After having so much soggy seed during the winter I've gone with feeders meant more for this area and that drain well. That one with the peaked top is one of my favorites and made in the NW. The bottom is a grid that allows the seed to stay drier. Welcome Back, Steve! I've so missed you and Nancy!!

I love it! You just may have more feeders than me. I have shut a few down lately because the squirrels just seem to be getting all the seed. I don't mind them getting some of it but they just empty the feeders out as soon as I fill them. And last week, the city council here decided to cut down the turkey herd in the city. They plan to eliminate about 75 of the 100 females that are roaming around. I guess in one of the neighborhoods, the folks were getting 60 turkeys in their backyard every day. They were chasing the children around. They plan to donate the meat to the local food shelters.

I can't imagine a flock of 60 turkeys in the yard! At least the meat is going to a good cause--should be tasty with all that good food in Shoreview!! I agree about the squirrels. They rarely bother the feeders here. I put the one feeder on the ground and fill it and they eat there or the corn on the stick for them. The baffles are a good deterrent but mostly they are there for weather. The rain is worse than snow for making a mess of the food. And we really don't get cold severe enough to force the squirrels to go for the feeders. And the birds aren't that bad about cleaning out the feeders. Yesterday afternoon, the way they were eating when I got home, I thought we might get a little snow. Someone mentioned it was in the forecast. Looks like we got rain overnight but that's it. Not even frost.

Reminds of the way my Dad's yard use to look. In addition to bird feeders he had pots and pots of roses hanging every where. (Florida)
