When I was a kid those little sponge cake cups for strawberry shortcake were considered very fancy and special. Now, they are less than special and don't taste as good as I remember. Sur La Table is having a Summer Sale and I found a couple of pans to make my own shortcake cups. I found a recipe that uses olive oil and butter. The olive oil really adds a fruity quality to the cake and it is perfect for shortcake.
